Development of Online Tool for Speech-Language Genetics Research

One of the problems of studying the genetics of speech, language, and reading is the need to collect data in-person from a large number of participants. In-person data collection is expensive and requires participants to be available for testing.

In contrast, online testing is much less expensive and allows for participation of people worldwide.

This project will adapt existing speech, language, and reading measures into online formats and testing to validate whether online formats are sensitive to atypical speech, language, and reading performance. The long-term goal of this project is to use our tool to test thousands of participants for large genetic studies on speech, language, and reading.

This is aimed at adults, ages 19-64, whose first language is English, with no history of hearing loss, traumatic brain injury, or autism.

Compensation will be in the form of a $15 Amazon e-gift card for 45-60 minutes to complete testing.

All tasks are performed on your own, remotely.
