Johannah Bashford-Largo Ph.D., M.Ed., PLMHP, is a Research Scientist at the Child and Family Translational Research Center. Dr. Bashford-Largo received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College where her training specialized in working with adults with intellectual and developmental disorders. After some time as a clinician, she decided to pursue a career in research utilizing her clinical background.
Dr. Bashford-Largo went on to become the Research Mental Health Clinician for the Center for Neurobehavioral Research at Boys Town National Research Hospital under Dr. James Blair and Dr. Karina Blair. Her research used functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging to explore neurological components of psychopathology including depressive and anxiety symptomatology.
She then transitioned to working under Dr. Sahil Bajaj in the Multimodal Clinical Neuroimaging Laboratory at the Institute of Human Neuroscience. During this time she received her Ph.D. training at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior (CB3) under Dr. Maital Neta at the Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory. During her time training, she continued to use structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging as well as machine learning methods to research different forms of adolescent anxiety disorders. She continues to adjunct lecture for the Department of Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Dr. Bashford-Largo's research utilizes neuroimaging techniques to investigate the complex interplay between brain function and psychopathology.
