Auditory Neuropathy Study Group

This study group will offer participants more detail in topic areas such as characteristics of ANSD, etiologies, the test battery needed to adequately diagnose the disorder, and options for remediation. Case studies of patients with ANSD will also be examined.

Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD) is a category of hearing disorder that is characterized by intact cochlear outer hair cell function in the presence of impaired auditory neural function. Because of its relatively recent discovery, many audiologists and other professionals in the field of communication disorders have scant information or misconceptions involving the disorder.

Study Groups consist of three 2-hours courses (6 hours total); however additional hours may be added to tailor the study group to the specific needs of the organization.
