Introduction
Dr. Yancheng Luo arrives at Boys Town National Research Hospital from Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. “I am a general child neurologist with a special interest in common pediatric epilepsy syndromes,” Dr. Luo said.
Boys Town’s mission of providing life-changing care is what drew Dr. Luo to his position at Boys Town. “In child neurology, many conditions are still waiting for a cure,” stated Dr. Luo. “Although a cure would always be the ultimate goal, providing care to improve the quality of life for patients living with neurological conditions is life-changing because it provides a better life.”
Dr. Luo’s commitment to children and families is easy to see in his thoughtful approach to medicine. “I enjoy working with children and their families. I value the importance of shared decision making and it is a privilege for me to help families navigate through difficult life and medical situations,” Dr. Luo said. “I take great joy and pride in helping children with neurological conditions, such as epilepsy, to achieve their potential and succeed in life.”
If there’s one thing Dr. Luo wants prospective patients to know about working with him, it’s that he’ll always be there for them. “I would like to make sure that patients and families are well informed every step of the way,” he said. “I never want a patient or family to worry alone.”
