Introduction
Dr. Bandatmakur knew very early on that pediatric neurology was the specialty for him. “A child’s brain from birth through adolescence goes through different stages of evolution and maturation…so studying that interested me right through medical school and that’s why I chose to pursue pediatric neurology,” said Bandatmakur.
As an important part of the Boys Town Headache Clinic, Dr. Bandatmakur enjoys treating this common and sometimes complex problem for children and adolescents. “Pediatric headache medicine is my major specific interest. It is such a common and avoidable, yet significant, burden among patients,” said Bandatmakur. “Providing the right approach to treat, control and prevent headaches will go a long way in helping a child reduce significant functional disability in terms of school attendance, improvement in learning and overall social well-being.”
“I enjoy reaching out to the community,” said Dr. Bandatmakur. “Especially where there is a need for specialized care in the field of neurology, which includes a wide spectrum of conditions. Being able to be a part of children’s well-being and helping them is important to me.”
