Green Tea – contains antioxidants called “polyphenols", which reduces risk of Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, and several types of cancer (breast, colorectal, prostate) in multiple medical studies.
Honey – may reduce susceptibility to allergens (if buying locally-sourced honey), it doesn't raise blood sugar as quickly as table sugar, and can help lower triglycerides, blood pressure, and cholesterol, if used in
MODERATION (it's still sugar).
Soy milk – much lower in calories and saturated fat (the one that causes the most heart damage). It's naturally cholesterol free, and great for people with lactose intolerance. It's a good source of potassium and can be fortified with vitamins A, B-12, and D, as well as calcium.
Bananas – excellent source of vitamins (B6, C) and minerals (potassium, magnesium, copper), aids in digestive health, makes you feel fuller, contains pectin, which can help with reducing insulin production. (aka increases insulin sensitivity).
