The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services recently awarded Boys Town National Research Hospital with two champion certificates: Safe Sleep Hospital Champion and Abusive Head Trauma/Shaken Baby Prevention Education Champion. These certifications are part of the Nebraska Safe Sleep Hospital Campaign and the Nebraska Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Campaign.
Jackie Moline, Maternal Infant Health Program Coordinator for the State of Nebraska, presented the certificates to staff at the Inpatient Unit at Boys Town Medical Campus – Pacific Street.
“We need to make sure to continue to increase awareness on these safety issues,” said Lori Umberger, Chief Nurse Executive. “It’s a big deal for patient safety and quality patient care.”
Boys Town Hospital is the only non-birthing hospital in Nebraska to receive this recognition. Congratulations to our nursing staff on these certifications!
