    It's never too late to get healthy. It's important to take care of ourselves so everyone needs to sleep seven or so hours a night. 

    Everyone needs to eat about three healthy meals and a couple snacks a day and exercising, but studies have shown that the people who age the most successfully have strong friendships with people who are older than them, the same age as them, and younger than them. They're very well connected into whatever community and even just having a handful of friends or a couple good friends but being socially connected to people is really important with aging well.

    How do I deal with retirement or empty nest syndrome?

    Be involved in other activities and other communities so that once your job is over and you're retiring or your children are out of the house you have plenty of other activities to do. You're involved in other communities and it's not such a shock to the system and you don't wake up one day saying what should I do today, who should I spend my time with?

    How do I manage the stress of caring for an aging parent?

    There are a lot of stressors there. It's important to ask for help and not feeling like you have to do everything on your own so whether that means friends and family or a home health agency that can assist you a few hours here and there.

    What is the importance of a living will or advanced directive?

    In case there's a catastrophic medical illness or if they find themselves in a persistent vegetative state, this document outlines what they wish for their medical interventions.

    It's very important for patients to talk to their loved ones or their power of attorney to let them know what these wishes are or at least where this document is located so that in the event a medical emergency, family members or loved ones kind of know what the desires are.

    What is the goal of Healthy After 40?

    Helping people really take care of themselves and their family members more successfully and I hope that people realize that it's possible to age well into your sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties.
