Boys Town Pediatrics and Safe Kids Douglas County to Host Car Seat Check
Boys Town Pediatrics is hosting a FREE car seat check on Saturday, March 26th at Omaha South High School, located at 4519 South 24th Street. The event will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
This event is open to the public, and attendees will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis. All attendees will be asked to complete a COVID-19 screening and will have their temperature taken upon arrival. If anyone in the vehicle has a temperature above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, the attendees will be asked to go home and will be offered an alternative car seat check option.
What to Expect
This event will be led by certified passenger safety technicians trained by Safe Kids Douglas County. Attendees can expect to spend 30 minutes with the technician for each car seat.
The technician will start by making sure you have the appropriate car seat for your child. If you do not have the appropriate seat, one will be provided to you at the cost of a suggested donation. Car seat technicians certified by Safe Kids Douglas County will teach how to properly use and safely install car seat(s).
To prepare for the event:
- Bring children, if possible. Expectant parents are welcome.
- Bring a friend/relative to help, if possible.
- Bring the vehicle owner's and car seat manuals.
This is a free event, but donations are accepted and appreciated.
