Introduction
Yon Chong, MD, MPH, MBA, joined Boys Town National Research Hospital in 2022.
Dr. Chong says she knew from a young age that she wanted to work with children and families. “There is a phrase that goes, 'Find a job that you love and you'll never have to work a day of your life,' and I feel very fortunate to be able to live by those words," she said. “Nothing is more rewarding or gratifying than knowing you're helping a child and/or their family and be able to call it your work!"
Part of the Boys Town Child and Adolescent Psychiatry team, Dr. Chong practices a holistic approach that leans on the biological, psychological and social models of psychiatry. “I see myself, the patient and their family as a team who can work together to get to where we need to be," Dr. Chong said. “I try to provide care not only as a medical physician but also call upon my experience as a mother to relate to others and create the best treatment plan possible."
