Introduction
Geoffrey Allison, M.D., M.S., has worked in an assortment of patient care settings of child and adolescent psychiatry. From inpatient to outpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, developmental pediatrics, juvenile justice, eating disorders and substance use disorder programs. He has experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), family therapy, habit reversal training (HRT), motivational interviewing and psychodynamic play therapy as well as trauma focused CBT and trauma informed care.
Dr. Allison is family focused (he is a husband, son, brother, friend and father) and the impact those relationships have had on him led him to the practice of child and adolescent psychiatry. “My goal is to provide meaningful skills and empower the youth I work with, inciting an enduring belief in themselves and their potential. Getting to be a part of that journey with the children and families I work with, both the lows and the highs, and seeing it through, is truly rewarding," said Dr. Allison.
