EIPA Summer Skills Workshop offers two separate training sessions for professional and community interpreters to increase and enhance sign language and interpreting skills.

This training session is designed to enhance interpreting skills for individuals who are currently working as interpreters in the K-12 setting. Participants will:
This training session is available for individuals who have some exposure to sign language and want to increase their skills in American Sign Language (ASL). The sessions will be facilitated by fluent, native signers of ASL. The goal of this workshop is to immerse participants in a sign language rich environment. All content, discussions and interactions will be conducted in sign language. Facilitators will use a variety of mediums besides sign language to convey the content and to facilitate comprehension.
This training is designed for individuals who have taken at least two sign language courses or individuals seeking to enhance their ASL expressive and receptive skills. (Minimum number of participants required.)
The workshops are available at no cost to individuals currently employed in the K-12 educational setting in Nebraska. Summer Skills Workshop fees are $200 per training sessions for individuals employed outside of the Nebraska school system.
