The Auditory Consultant Resource Network is one of the many innovative services that are offered by Boys Town National Research Hospital. The Hospital is committed to developing outstanding services that will enhance educational programs for children who are deaf and hard of hearing. With limited time and resources, families and professionals throughout the United States are struggling to keep pace with advances in hearing technology and educational practices, and to respond to the ever-changing diversity of children with hearing loss. The Network provides professionals and families with inservice training, individual coaching and educational resources in both a time and cost-effective manner through onsite consultation and distance support. Through the use of Polycom conferencing and webstreaming, the Network is able to connect families, classroom teachers, speech pathologists and audiologists with Boys Town National Research Hospital’s hearing specialists. This unique mentoring program enables families and school districts to access the following onsite and distance opportunities for the 2009-2010 school year.
