Cell Phones, Texting, Facebook, Internet, Video Phones & Web Cams…OH MY The Benefits, Issues and Guidelines for use of Technology by Children and Teens
Presented by Melinda Brown, M.S.W and Maureen Mann, M.S.

The average age a child receives their first cell phone in the United States is 8 years old. Our children are living in a different world than their parents did 20 short years ago. Our grandparents still think “my space” refers to the distance a person should stand from one another. At a time when our children know as much or more than most adults about the latest gadgets, what are some of the benefits, issues and implications of the available technology used by children and teens today? We invite parents to attend this special SEEDS with their children and teens as we discuss texting, video phones, social networking sites and the internet.
