EIPA Summer Intensive Skills

Training Program

Three-Day Video Conference

Boys Town National Research Hospital’s EIPA Diagnostic Center is offering a new intensive summer training program to help you improve your interpreting skills.

This is a three-day program that incorporates both teaching and extensive hands-on practical training. Instructors include individuals who are Deaf and hearing who work in the EIPA Diagnostic Center and have first-hand knowledge of the skills interpreters need to improve their work in the classroom. Participants will be expected to participate in some activities using sign language only with no voice support. No voice interpretation will be provided. Each topic will be introduced and fully explained and participants will then be guided through a variety of hands-on activities to demonstrate their skills. The video conference will be held July 28-30, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time) with a half-hour break for lunch.

  • Making Ethical Decisions In The Classroom - Group Discussion

This workshop will only be open to five states. Participation is limited in order to provide more direct interaction among sites.

​Multi-Agency (Educational Service Unit) ​​*$3,500.00
​Single Agency (School District) ​​*$2,500.00
​Onsite attendees (Omaha, NE)  ​ ​$300.00 per person (includes boxed lunch)
*Bridging fee of $300.00 per bridge/port additional.
