Education is an integral component of Boys Town Behavioral Health Services. Many children in our programs have experienced difficulty in the educational system as well as their homes and communities. Self-contained classrooms offer the appropriate structure, academic instruction and nurturing needed to achieve academic goals. Certified special education teachers and para-professionals provide instruction, and classes are age and grade appropriate, allowing for individual attention. Behavioral technicians provide continuity and monitoring to integrate the child’s treatment plan into his/her educational program. When the youth is ready to transition to the next level of care, special education teachers serve as liaisons, assuring continuity of education in the next academic placement.
