We believe success is an ongoing process, marked by the slightest changes
in behavior. Behaviors impact thinking and feeling. As a way to measure, we
need a baseline. This baseline is determined through assessments at the time
of admission. The assessments give us critical information necessary to develop
your child’s individual treatment plan.
The treatment plan is based of the following:
- Current and past behaviors
- Legal guardian reports
- Family input
- Psychiatric diagnosis
- Medical history
Once the information is collected, the treatment team works together to identify goals. The plan contain elements specific to the following general treatment areas:
- Psychiatric/medical
- Family therapy
- Individual/group therapy
- Academics
- Life skills
The treatment plan is reviewed and updated every 14 days during a treatment team meeting. These meetings are open to all team members. If unable to participate in person, Boys Town has technology, such as video and phone conferencing, which allows for
real-time participation.
Throughout your child’s stay, he or she receives carefully coordinated treatment. The treatment team regularly evaluates progress and revises the plan based on your child’s progress. The treatment program provides a well-rounded, comprehensive curriculum, including life skills building, individual family and group therapy, health education, drug and alcohol prevention education, social skill building and therapeutic recreation.
