Problem Behaviors

Children admitted to Boys Town Behavioral Health Services have serious behavioral and mental health issues that require full time supervision.

Our goal is to successfully reunite families,
as quickly as possible.

Children are admitted to our care because they have serious behavioral and mental health issues that require immediate attention and full-time supervision, in a secure and safe environment. Children come to us with behavioral problems that include:

  • History of school failures
  • Physical or sexual abuse
  • Problems with authority
  • Poor peer relationships
  • Aggression
  • Self-Injury
  • Property damage
  • At-risk for psychiatric hospitalization

Our goal is to successfully reunite families, as quickly as possible. We encourage parents and families to take an active role in their child’s treatment plan and work directly with our medical team to provide the best outcome for their child.

Because our program is highly verbal, focusing on awareness and safety, it is not designed for youth who have the following issues:

  • Full scale IQ below 70
  • Currently dependent on drugs or alcohol and needing detoxification
  • Have a history of sexual perpetration
