Cleft Palate Clinic
The Cleft Palate Clinic offers a multidisciplinary approach that provides comprehensive and long term treatment to children and their families and adults with cleft lip and/or palate and other craniofacilial anomalies. Clinic professionals are experienced in the evaluation and treatment of craniofacial disorders. Team members include maxillofacial surgeons, audiologists, otolaryngologists, neurotologists, speech pathologists, pediatricians, geneticists, pediatric dentists, prosthodonticians, psychologists, and orthodontists.
Located within the Boys Town National Research Hospital, the clinic is held weekly on Friday mornings. Individualized treatment plans are developed by a team of specialists and the patients and/or their families. Both inpatient and outpatient surgery is performed at the hospital's Surgery Center.
Services include feeding instruction, psychosocial support, and triage for newborns with cleft palate; comprehensive clinical genetics and counseling; links to support organizations; and educational programs and resources.
