Center for Audiological and Vestibular Services - Audiological Services - Hearing Technology Center

The Hearing Technology Center provides a wide range of services related to hearing aids and assistive listening devices for patients of all ages. Clinical researchers at Boys Town National Research Hospital are nationally and internationally known for their research efforts in the area of hearing aids and other amplification devices. This research program has been funded by the National Institutes of Health for over 20 years and the services provided to patients with hearing loss have been enhanced by the close link between our research and clinical programs. The most current evaluation techniques are used to help match the individual needs of each patient with the most affordable and highest performance technology available.

Hearing Aid Evaluation and Fitting

Following a diagnosis of significant hearing loss, the next step is a hearing aid evaluation. This evaluation will help determine which of the many types of hearing aids would be most appropriate for a given individual. While the overall goals are the same for both children and adults, the evaluation process itself differs.
