Cochlear Implant Program Overview - Clinical Services - Otology and Surgery

We provide pre- and post-operative otologic evaluations and follow-up for CI candidates and recipients, including post-operative x-rays. Cochlear implant surgeries are performed within Boys Town National Research Hospital by Dr. Rodney Lusk and Dr. Alan Nissen. Dr. Lusk is a board certified pediatric otolaryngologist with over 22 years of experience. Dr. Nissen is a board certified neurotologist with over 23 years of experience. Our anesthesiologists specialize in the challenges associated with anesthetizing babies and young children. In-patient facilities include private rooms, attentive nursing staff, and a child-friendly atmosphere.
