Boys Town International Adoption Clinic

New Arrival Consultations

The Boys Town International Adoption Clinic provides a unique resource for families who adopt children from foreign countries. A New Arrival Consultation is a complete medical assessment and evaluation for children entering the United States. The consultation includes:

  • Complete physical assessment
  • Developmental evaluation
  • Immunization recommendations
  • Laboratory screening

Children adopted from other countries are more likely to have conditions related to poor nutrition, infectious diseases and inadequate medical care. Adopted children should receive a thorough medical examination within 2-4 weeks of their arrival.

The International Adoption Clinic staff will report our findings and recommendations to you and to your primary care doctor. We will also help arrange referrals to other specialists if necessary. Our goal is to help ease your new child’s medical and behavioral adjustment to their new life in your
family.  (Click here for PDF flyer.)
