The 2007 Boys Town National Research Hospital Memorial Day Run was an outstanding success, with a record breaking crowd of more than 2330 walkers and runners participating in the three events: Children’s 1-Mile Fun Run, 1-Mile Walk/Run and 5-Mile Walk/Run. The event took place on Monday, May 28 on the Boys Town Home Campus and raised over $72,000 for the hospital’s Cochlear Implant Program and Lied Learning and The Memorial Day Run had a stronger emphasis on fitness and family this year by adding a 5-Mile walk event and family entertainment such as clowns, a face painter, Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream and Omaha Irish Dancers. Event sponsors included Pinnacle Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Performance Toyota Scion. “The event gets bigger and bigger every year due to the continued support of our presenting sponsors,” said Dr. Patrick Brookhouser, Boys Town Vice President of Health Care and Boys Town National Research Hospital Director. “Boys Town National Research Hospital is able to continue offering children with hearing and vision disorders the best care available thanks to the generous support of all those who participated.” |
