Boys Town International Adoption Clinic

Town National Research Hospital has opened the only International Adoption Clinic in Nebraska, located at Boys Town Medical Clinics, 14040 Hospital Road, on the campus of Girls and Boys Town.

The Boys Town International Adoption Clinic provides a unique resource for families who adopt children from foreign countries called New Arrival Consultations. A New Arrival Consultation is a complete medical assessment and evaluation for children entering the United States, which includes a physical assessment, developmental evaluation, hearing and vision testing, immunization recommendations and laboratory screening.

“Children adopted from other countries are more likely to have conditions related to poor nutrition, infectious diseases and inadequate medical care,” said Edward Kolb, M.D., Director of the International Adoption Clinic. “Adopted children should have a thorough examination within 2-4 weeks after arrival to the U.S.

The integrated medical, developmental and laboratory assessments are offered in one location at Boys Town National Research Hospital to make it more convenient for parents. The International Adoption Clinic staff will report findings and recommendations to parents and to the child’s primary care doctor.

For questions, referrals or to set up a consultation visit, contact the Boys Town International Adoption Clinic at (402) 778-6045. For more information, call the Clinic or visit www.boystownhospital.org/adoptionclinic.
